  • This is a comprehensive resource site for seniors that permits searching by county or town and category of service such as prescription drug program or health centers.
  • The Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic provides free health care to uninsured and underinsured entertainment industry professionals between the ages of 18 and 64. The Hirschfeld Clinic offers urgent care, primary and specialty care with low cost referrals to a wide range of specialty clinics and practitioners. Dr. James Spears, the Clinic's Medical Director, oversees a team of general practitioners and specialists who volunteer their time to provide free medical care to the entertainment community. All lab tests as well as other services provided by the Clinic are free.
  • Ensuring that Colorado's low income residents have access to affordable, high quality, primary health care Community Health Centers are federally designated clinics that provide comprehensive care regardless of ability to pay.   • The CLASS Program is a national, voluntary insurance program that will be available after October 2012 to assist in paying for services and supports that help individuals maintain independence in their communities. People over age 18 who are working will have the opportunity to enroll in the CLASS Program. Enrollees (after contributing to the program for five years) who the program determines have functional limitations expected to last 90 days or more and meet other eligibility requirements will get a cash benefit to help pay for supports to stay independent. These limitations include needing help with many basic daily living activities such as eating and getting in and out of bed. Such supports include home modifications, assistive technologies, home care aides, and personal assistance. The minimum average daily benefit will be $50 a day.

  • Medical assistance comprises three programs that help cover health care costs for persons who qualify. These programs are: Medicaid, which covers low-income persons, pregnant women, children, persons with disabilities and senior citizens; HealthWave 21, which covers children up to age 19 who don't qualify for Medicaid; and MediKan, which covers people trying to get Social Security disability benefits.

Each facility includes information on its primary focus, services provided, type of care, forms of payment accepted, payment assistance, special language services, website and contact information. The site also provides a mental health services locator, substance abuse agencies locator, detailed substance abuse treatment facility locator and a frequently asked questions page.
  • The Actors Fund is a national human services organization that helps everyone, on stage and those behind the scenes, who works in entertainment and performing arts. As a safety net for those in need, crisis or transition, The Actors Fund provides comprehensive social services including counseling, crisis intervention and connections to local resources for personal, family or work related problems as well as emergency financial assistance for basic living necessities. The Fund also offers employment and training programs and a national health insurance resource center. In New York City, The Actors Fund has a free health clinic for the uninsured, and supportive and affordable housing in two residences. The Actors Home in Englewood, NJ features both assisted living and skilled nursing for retirees.
  • The Center for the Performing Artist offers a full comprehensive and integrated health care service tailored to the artist's needs. The Center's specialists have particular expertise and experience evaluating and treating the performing artist, and provide access to the full range of specialties available at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center. Patients are generally seen within 24-48 hours of referral. The Center accepts most insurance plans and is also willing to work with the uninsured artist.
